SportNation are an ambitious betting company. They've always had designs on growing to become one of the biggest bookies around and have taken some fairly drastic measures to try and achieve those goals. It's still early days but, as we find out in our SportNation review, they have an excellent sportsbook with some very generous promotions.
The team at SportNation are very serious about providing one of the best sports betting platforms in the world. They quickly realised that their ambitions were not going to be matched by their first incarnation - BetOnBrazil. Although their partnership with former Tottenham and Man Utd footballer Alan Brazil came with a certain amount of publicity, it limited how far the brand could go.
The change to SportNation wasn't just cosmetic. The company behind SportNation, Argyll Entertainment, have invested a lot of money into their new look site and an every growing selection of products. There's more on the way the site looks and works later in our review but it's fair to say that the site lives up to their promised "new online gaming experience".
SportNation are trying to make themselves known to as many punters as they can. Ireland is an important market for them which is why they are allowing all new customers based in the Republic of Ireland the chance to earn up to €125 in welcome cash.
The full €100 is released in €5 installments. Each €5 is earned after customers stake €100 on pre-match and in-play sports betting markets at odds of 1.60 (that's 6/10 in fractional odds). There are no other wagering requirements with all bonus cash able to be withdrawn the moment it is credited into customer accounts.
This €100 welcome bonus is by no means the only promotion available to SportNation users. They reward punters for every bet with reward points via their Reward Plus membership and regularly run promotions which offer double points on specific markets. SportNation also have regular enhanced odds offers and promotion on their many casino games.
The first thing to say about the SportNation website is that it looks great. It's based on a dark grey background with lots of orange and white to highlight key pieces of information. As well as being easy on the eye, this helps users quickly find the markets and odds they're looking for. Finding the different sport, league and tournament pages is just as straight forward thanks to a left-hand sidebar that has links to the sports offered by SportNation and a very helpful search bar.
Current in-play markets are detailed right on the homepage so it's possible to place a bet with only a few clicks whilst there's a lot of useful information on individual event pages.
The use of graphics is perhaps the most impressive thing about the SportNation site. The bright and eye-catching graphics provide quick links to the latest promotions and other sections of the site and really help SportNation to stand out.
It's all well and good having a website that looks great and works well but punters are most interested in having a large selection of markets and some generous value. Thankfully, SportNation do a very good job in that regard.
The SportNation sportsbook works on the SBTech platform. That enables them to take bets on a wider range of sports and events than if they were operating on their own. The same is true of the value available throughout the SportNation sportsbook which compares very well with the competition.
There is no live stream service currently provided by SportNation.
SportNation is designed to be a forward thinking, modern betting brand. It is, therefore, vital that they offer their products to customers however and wherever they want them. The SportNation mobile site and apps do the job very nicely indeed. Whichever option punters choose, they'll find a fully feature laden sportsbook which is fast, responsive and easy to use.
SportNation have a very good cash out feature. It allows users to profit from their bets long before the final whistle and even choose how much of their bet they want to cash out. The one criticism is that SportNation could provide cash out on more markets but that will come in time.
Argyll Entertainment, the holding company for SportNation, hold the licenses various licenses that SportNation need to operate across a number of different territories. That is very much the case for Irish customers who can find out how their funds are protected, the steps which have been taken to protect sensitive information and the code of conduct under which SportNation operate on their website.
Users who have any further questions about SportNation's operation or run into any problems can get in touch with a customer service representative pretty easily. There's a Contact Us button at the top of every page on the SportNation website which includes live chat and email information.
